The Process

To mummify the dead they would cut off all the limbs on the body, take the skin off, then remove the brain, clean all the flesh off, dry the bones out, then put them back together again using sticks, reeds, and grass.
Next they would rewrap the limbs with the same skin, hollow out the body, put sticks in for support, then stuff the body with grass. For the finishing touches they would then make a mask for the face, attach a wig, and paint the bodies black using manganese.
