The Mercury Dime was named after the Roman God Mercury. On the face of the Dime is a picture depicting Mercury wings. On the back of the Dime is a fasces and an olive branch. The fasces represents power. The word liberty on the front of the dime is cut off at the bottom of the E covered up by the face of Mercury. There is also a W like sign on the front that represents the designer of the coin, Adolph Weinman, the W form is a combination of an A and W. It has the Latin words E Pluribus Unum which means out of many, one.
